Composer in Residence 2009

There are twentythree female composers represented in this year’s Festival programme! Their banner is carried by Karin Rehnqvist, perhaps the most well known contemporary female Swedish composer. Since a quarter of a century she composes chamber, orchestral and vocal music, often with unconventional and cross border concert forms. Karin has received many awards, in 2007 she was awarded the Hugo Alfvén Prize. She is member of the Royal Academy of Music.
